Enel Green Power South Africa
We’re deeply committed to renewable energy and to researching and developing new environmentally friendly technologies. That's why, as part of the Enel Group, we’ve created Enel Green Power (EGP), the part of our group that is dedicated to the production of energy from renewable sources.
In South Africa, Enel Green Power has more than 520 MW of wind and solar projects in operation. We have been awarded another 500 MW through the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Program (REIPP). All this means that we’ve invested approximately R18 billion in South Africa’s renewable energy production since entering the country.
